What I Learned about copyright

I have learned a lot about copyright laws and there was actually some surprising information. I was very surprised to find out that teachers cannot show a movie is class just for fun, instead of going outside for recess or something. Teachers are only allowed to show videos if they directly relate to the lesson and content being taught. I also learned that teachers can only make a copy of something for each student, they cannot make as many copies as they want. If they want to make copies of something year after year then they would need to get permission. I also learned that facts are not copyrighted, and information from before 1923 is not copyrighted, therefore they are free to use.
